Choosing Your Fire

When you have made decisions as to the style and design of the fireplace you wish to install, the following explanatory paragraphs will help you make an informed choice by outlining the possible types, efficiencies and factors which may be relevant.

Differences in efficiency, heat outputs and running costs will no doubt affect your purchase.

We can offer four options of fire types for gas or electric, open-fronted or glass fronted models.

Glass Fronted Gas Convector Fires

These fires are up to 89% efficient, and can produce up to 4.4 kilowatts of heat output.

They are currently regarded as one of the most efficient fires available to buy, the glass front helping provide high glow in ceramic fuel beds at low settings.

Glass fronted fires stop heat from the room being lost up the chimney when the fire is switched off.

Open Fronted Gas Convector Fires

These fires are up to 65% efficient and can produce up to 4 kilowatts of heat output.

Our models are some of the most efficient open fronted gas fires on the market.

They are available in slide or manual control.

Decorative Open Fronted Gas Fires

These fires are up to 50% efficient - the least efficient of all of our gas fires, and can produce up to 3.5 kilowatts of heat output.

They are nevertheless popular because of their realistic natural look.

Electric Fires

These fires are by their nature 100% efficient but offer lower levels of heat output, typically achieving 1 or 2 kilowatts.

Flame effects are nowadays surprisingly realistic.

Suitable for those homes where there is no chimney
